Minh Dang Quang Meditation Center, located in Lawrenceville near Atlanta, Georgia, was founded in the 1980s and has since undergone significant expansion under the vision of each successive abbot. The current head abbot, Thay Thich Minh Dat, has continued this legacy of growth and service to the community.
A major milestone in the monastery’s development was the completion of a 7,425 sq. ft. building in 2018, which now serves as the main site of worship. This achievement was made possible thanks to the unwavering support of volunteers and the broader community, who contributed time and resources to bring this vision to life.
Rooted in the Theravada tradition and inspired by the teachings of Venerable Minh Dang Quang, the monastery remains dedicated to spiritual growth, community service, and cultural preservation. It serves as a spiritual sanctuary for Vietnamese immigrants and the local community, offering a place of peace, meditation, and reflection for all who seek it.
Over the years, Minh Dang Quang Meditation Center has become a thriving center for religious practice and cultural engagement. It hosts a variety of events, festivals, and programs, including the Vietnamese Language & Culture Program, which fosters a deep connection to Vietnamese heritage among younger generations.
Through its commitment to serving the spiritual and cultural needs of the community, Minh Dang Quang Meditation Center continues to be a beacon of learning, compassion, and enlightenment for all.
